According to the information released by UPSC regarding the CSE 2021 result, this time a total of 180 candidates can be selected for the posts of Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and 200 candidates can be selected for the posts of Indian Police Service (IPS). Out of 180 posts of IAS, 72 posts will be filled by general category candidates, 18 posts for EWS category candidates, 49 posts for OBC category candidates, 27 posts for SC category candidates, and 14 posts for ST category candidates. At the same time, out of 200 posts of IPS, 83 posts are for General category candidates, 20 posts for EWS category candidates, 51 posts for OBC category candidates, 26 posts for SC category candidates, and 20 posts for ST category candidates. are reserved for

After success in the Civil Services Examination, candidates get a chance to work in any one of the IAS, IPS, and many other posts. All India Ranking is decided on the basis of final marks of Civil Services Examination and then IAS, IPS, or other rank is given on the basis of allotment of any one service to the candidates. The top-ranked ones get the IAS post. However, if the top rankers have a preference for some other post, then the lower rankers can also get the IAS post. It is to be noted that the candidates who qualify for the Mains exam are required to fill up a Detail Application Form (DAF), on the basis of which the Personality Test is conducted. Based on the information filled in the form, the candidates are asked questions during the interview. The merit list is prepared by adding the marks obtained in the main examination and interview and on the basis of this, the All India Ranking is decided.
